Top 6 Songs That Should Be Used on HBO’s “Girls” in Season 2

hbo girls
With HBO’s Girls season finale coming up on June 17, I thought I’d take the time to share with the show’s music supervision some of the golden opportunities they missed with some pretty stinkin’ awesome tunes.

The big up-side to this tragedy is that they’ll totally get a chance to use them (or at least consult me on what they should use) since HBO renewed Girls for a second season. Silver lining!
If you have never watched the show, I’ll ask you to stop being lame and catch up already. It’s only 30 minutes and 8 episodes in so that’s like watching four episodes of Mad Men which is totally doable in one sitting.

Anyway, Girls is full of quirky awkwardness so it seemed only natural to select six tracks that had some of those same elements like a Tove Styrke remix that should probably be used in Season 2 promos. Now, to keep things “emotionally realistic,” I threw in a really awesome downbeat song by Keegan DeWitt that could very well leave you broken and crying on your dirty kitchen floor.

Just a warning.
TOVE STYRKE – BAD TIME FOR A GOOD TIME (FT. GNUCCI BANANA)

ROYAL TEETH – WILD

NORAH JONES – HAPPY PILLS

GHOST BEACH – EMPTY STREETS

CORINNE BAILEY RAE – I WOULD LIKE TO CALL IT BEAUTY (FREDDIE JOACHIM REPRISE)

KEEGAN DEWITT – COMPLICATED
Tweet me (@calvinshow) some song suggestions you think should pop up on Girls next season!
