Shopping the Top 5 Items for S/S 2012

Ready for another post on style for guys? I thought you would be! So, retailers have begun to roll out their fantastic Spring/Summer 2012 merchandise which is why I have compiled a list of 5 items you need to buy right now. And since I’m your resident budget-nisto, all items are under $100. Shopping never seemed so fun! Word to ya mutha.

At the beginning of the year, I did a horrible video blog to talk about my style resolutions. In that video, I talked about wanting to add more blazers. The latest to my wardrobe is the above H&M single-breasted blazer in a shade of rusty brown. A well-fitted blazer is an absolute must for every guy. No excuses! Coming in at $29.95, this is the hottest ticket on this list.

Saturdays NYC were recently revealed as a contender in GQ‘s Best New Menswear Designers in America for 2012 and I understand why! They’ve been able to take basics for surfers and make them painfully desirable for all. Take the striped long-sleeve crewneck top with a ribbed cuff. At $65, this might seem pricey but trust it will be a piece you wear often.

When I first went into Onassis, located in SoHo on Greene Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect but the manager was a super cute guy who gave me freebies which is always okay in my book. In addition to the swag, I discovered that this menswear boutique had a handful of gems. One of them is their slim fit selvage denim which goes for $98 making this the most expensive item on the list.

Designer Robert Geller used hats a lot in his Fall 2012 collection and told me  how accessories can help a man complete a look. At least when it comes to accessories, Gap hits it out of the ball park with their reversible cotton belts. The yellow gives you a punch of color which is so prevalent for Spring but you also get the subdued gray. At $24.95, this is your best bet for a belt purchase.

I am a fan of color blocking and am glad that it has gone from an obnoxious trend to a sophisticated staple. ASOS has become one of my favorite places to go for on-trend and affordable pieces and their color blocked suede brogues is no exception. Mixing the maroon and navy suede with the brown leather gives this $80 shoe a bunch of attitude in the best way.

Would you look at that! You could literally take each of these pieces and wear them together for one simple, pulled together ensemble. I’m so good to you all.

You’ve seen what I have suggested now tell me some of your must-have’s for Spring/Summer 2012!
