GET READY FOR A MOODY 4 MINUTE FASHION FILM
Rihanna, what are you doing to us? First you release an epic single with Kanye West and Paul McCartney, then you deliver us “Bitch Better Have My Money” and most recently you made history as the first Black spokesperson for Dior. The ad campaign, lensed by Steven Klein, is stunning and we now have the full-length video, titled Dior Secret Garden IV – Versailles, tapping out at just over four minutes.
When Rihanna first slinks onto the scene, she’s seen stomping up a flight of stairs and you think “Okay, get to the good stuff” but be patient, young rabbit. Things quickly progresses to a scene where she proves she’s a BOSS by strutting the shit out of a sequin gown.
RIHANNA LITERALLY STRUTTED THE SHIT OUT OF IT.
We see Rihanna run through the halls with a red skirt flapping behind her. We see Rihanna stalk the premises with a cane. We see Rihanna spin around in circles. She basically proves that she’s perfect and I have come to the conclusion that reenacting this video is the only plausible way of walking to the train from here on out.
What is probably most exciting is the fact that Entertainment Weekly let us in on the fact that the sample of Florence and the Machine’s “Only If For the Night” is actually part of a track produced by Midas for Rihanna’s upcoming album. Who knows when this album will ever be released, though! Rihanna allegedly had a social media exchange with a fan where she let them know she won’t release her album until she believes in it.
Rihanna, it’s time you believe in it and get on with the show. I’m getting quite exhausted with you trying to pull a Beyonce, chica. You’re better than that. You are better than that.
