For all of my life, “casual Friday” has meant schlubbing it into the office wearing potentially ill fitting everything. No matter what day it is or what industry you work in, it’s never a good look to show up to work extremely disheveled as if you’re auditioning for a non-existent makeover show. We all have our off days but even after a hard night out, one must still make sure to bounce back at least sartorially before trotting off to work.
Since men, and “real men” at that, have been embracing fashion on every level over the last handful of years, “casual Friday” can still be a thing but it is finally something you don’t have to be ashamed of partaking in because you’re going to look badass even in your casual digs. May’s Look of Luxe is all embodying the “casual Friday” concept by sharing informal pieces you can wear to the office and still look strong enough to take on any meeting.
A well fitted blazer is one of the things men have in their arsenals that quickly puts them on the road to looking sharp no matter the occasion. Toss this over a casual button down but make sure the shirt still has enough structure so that it’ll look clean since you’ll want to tuck it into your trousers. Now, since we’re going casual, let’s forgo the wool trouser you might don on a day-to-day basis in favor of a pair of denim jeans in a simple, dark wash.
Go for something a bit unexpected with your wrist candy such as a watch with a woven leather strap. Keeping in line with the unexpected, chuck the traditional lace up and brave the day in a leather sneaker which are becoming more and more streamline with each passing season.
