BRAND HAS REPORTEDLY LAID OFF MOST OF ITS STAFF

Band of Outsiders, a Los Angeles based clothing store, has reportedly cancelled its Fall orders and laid off the majority of its staff, Fashionista reports. Scott Sternberg, pictured above, may have gotten his start in the film business but quickly became a cool kid in the fashion industry with the 2004 launch of Outsiders. In 2008, Sternberg expanded the company to include womenswear and was a nominee for the CFDA Vogue/Fashion Fund. The following year, Band of Outsiders won the CFDA Swarovski Award for New Menswear Designer of the Year. They were just in the news last month when it was announced that Joseph Pickman, who served as the men’s design director for more than three years, left the company to join American Apparel.

If you click over to their website, you’ll see that most of their menswear items are sold out which seems great for business but it would appear it just wasn’t enough.  No official statement has been made as of yet but the brand’s social media profiles have been silent for over a week now.
